Common-Law Aptitude Test (CLAT) is the best career option for those looking forward to making a bright career in the field of law.
The National Law Institute Universities’ (NLIUs) of the country organize the CLAT exam every year on a rotation basis. Candidates clearing the CLAT exam are enrolled in the reputed law universities’ of the country.
Admission to the five-year B.A. LLB course is based on the marks scored in the CLAT exam. Other than NLIUs, admission to other premier law schools in the country is also granted on the basis of CLAT score. A candidate can appear for the CLAT exam after 12th standard.
Interested candidates must secure a minimum of 45 percent in the class. Students appearing for class 12 exams can also appear for the CLAT exam.
CLAT 2020 Exam
CLAT 2020 exam will be conducted by the National University Of Study And Research In Law (NUSRL), Ranchi in May 2020. The national-level offline exam is held for admission into UG and PG law courses. In addition to the NLUs, 52 private universities and DBRANLU Sonipat, Haryana, also use CLAT scores for admission.
CLAT 2020 application form will open in online mode in the mid-January.

Preparation Strategy
It is important for the aspirants to make a clear strategy and prepare accordingly for the CLAT exam.
· General Knowledge of CLAT Examination mainly includes questions from science, social science, and current affairs. A candidate must have good knowledge of all these subjects including general science subjects like physics and chemistry. A candidate needs to study the chemical equations properly. Important facts related to history and geography must be remembered. Study thoroughly newspapers and monthly magazines related to competitive exams such as Pratiyogita Nirdeshika. Useful books for preparation are – NCERT textbooks of class 10th, 11th, and 12th of Physics, Chemistry, History, Economics, Political Science, and Economics. Study about freedom struggle from books by Bipin Chandra and geography of India from books by Mamoria.
· Questions asked under the Mathematics section can be solved on the basis of information on formulas. Books by RS Agrawal and M. Tyra are useful for this.
· English section includes questions on grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, clauses, paragraph structure, antonyms, synonyms, etc. The section tests your understanding of the language and word power. To improve word power, read English newspapers every day and learn about difficult words. Studying from books by Rajendra Prasad Sinha and Martin & Nesfield is useful.
· Books by AP Bharadwaj, Harsh Gagrani, Gautampuri, Amandeep and Danish Hasnain are useful for preparation.
· A well-planned strategy along with hard work is required to succeed in the CLAT exam.
· Understand the exam pattern and solve the last 10-year question papers.
· Learn about the topics or subjects in which you are weak. Spend more time on those.
· Subject-wise time management is the key to success. Make notes during preparing any topic or subject. This will help in the efficient utilization of time while revising.
