Eligibility criteria for UPSC -/IAS/IPS

1. You must be an Indian citizen
2. You need to be a graduate from a recognized university
3. Age between 21 years to 32 years in general

Stage I: IAS Exam – UPSC Prelims

• The questions in the IAS Exam (Prelims) are of the objective type or Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• The marks scored by the candidates in the preliminary examination are not counted for the final score. It is only a screening test where candidates not securing the cut-off marks are eliminated.

Stage II: IAS Exam – UPSC Mains

The second stage of the IAS Exam is called the Mains Exam, which is a written descriptive examination and comprises 9 papers.

Stage III: IAS Exam – UPSC Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who clear the Mains stage of the IAS exam with the required cut-off marks qualify for the final stage of the IAS exam i.e., the Personality Test or Interview round with the UPSC Board Members. In this round, the board assesses the personality traits of the candidates and questions will be asked on their hobbies, current affairs, general knowledge, situation questions, etc. to evaluate if they are fit for a career in the civil services.

संघ लोक सेवा आयोग (UPSC) सरकारी पदों पर उम्मीदवारों की भर्ती के लिए विभिन्न परीक्षाएँ आयोजित करता है। UPSC द्वारा आयोजित सिविल सेवा परीक्षा IAS, IPS आदि जैसे विभिन्न पदों के लिए उम्मीदवारों की भर्ती करती है।

यूपीएससी -/आईएएस/आईपीएस के लिए पात्रता मानदंड

1. आपको भारतीय नागरिक होना चाहिए
2. आपको किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से स्नातक होना चाहिए
3. सामान्यतः आयु 21 वर्ष से 32 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए

चरण I: आईएएस परीक्षा – यूपीएससी प्रारंभिक

• आईएएस परीक्षा (प्रारंभिक) में प्रश्न वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रकार या बहुविकल्पीय प्रश्न (एमसीक्यू) होते हैं
• प्रारंभिक परीक्षा में उम्मीदवारों द्वारा प्राप्त अंकों को अंतिम स्कोर के लिए नहीं गिना जाता है। यह केवल एक स्क्रीनिंग टेस्ट है जहां कट-ऑफ अंक हासिल नहीं करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को बाहर कर दिया जाता है।

चरण II: आईएएस परीक्षा - यूपीएससी मेन्स

आईएएस परीक्षा के दूसरे चरण को मुख्य परीक्षा कहा जाता है, जो एक लिखित वर्णनात्मक परीक्षा है और इसमें 9 पेपर शामिल होते हैं।

चरण III: आईएएस परीक्षा - यूपीएससी साक्षात्कार/व्यक्तित्व परीक्षण

जो उम्मीदवार IAS परीक्षा के मुख्य चरण को आवश्यक कट-ऑफ अंकों के साथ पास कर लेते हैं, वे IAS परीक्षा के अंतिम चरण यानी व्यक्तित्व परीक्षण या UPSC बोर्ड के सदस्यों के साथ साक्षात्कार के लिए अर्हता प्राप्त करते हैं। इस दौर में, बोर्ड उम्मीदवारों के व्यक्तित्व लक्षणों का आकलन करता है और उनके शौक, करंट अफेयर्स, सामान्य ज्ञान, स्थिति संबंधी प्रश्न आदि पर सवाल पूछे जाते हैं ताकि यह मूल्यांकन किया जा सके कि वे सिविल सेवाओं में करियर के लिए उपयुक्त हैं या नहीं।
