State Service Examination 2025: MPPSC Announces 158 Posts

700 Posts Were Requested, Only 158 Posts Announced

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has announced only 158 posts for the State Service Examination 2025,

stating that candidates will have only 15 days to apply online. The application window will be open from January 3 to January 17. The preliminary examination will be held on February 16 across 55 districts of the state. Among the 158 posts announced, the most notable are only 10 posts for the Deputy Collector role.

This year, the MPPSC did not announce any posts for the State Forest Service Examination. As a result, no notification for the State Forest Service Examination has been issued. 2025 will be considered a zero year for this examination.

MPPSC State Service Exam 2025

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) conducts the State Service Exam to recruit candidates for various posts in government departments and offices in Madhya Pradesh. The MPPSC State Service Exam is conducted annually for the following posts:

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)
Jail Superintendent
Commercial Tax Officer
District Registrar

1. Preliminary Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Exam consists of two objective-type (multiple-choice) papers:

Paper 1: "General Studies"
Paper 2: "General Aptitude Test"

Each paper contains 100 questions, each carrying 2 marks. The duration of each paper is 2 hours. Both papers can be attempted in Hindi or English.

To qualify for the Main Exam, candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper of the Preliminary Exam. For SC/ST/OBC and differently-abled candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 30%.

Note: The second paper of the Preliminary Exam is of qualifying nature only. The marks obtained in this paper will not be included in the merit list for the Preliminary Exam.

2. MPPSC Main Exam Pattern

The Main Exam is a written examination consisting of six descriptive-type papers. Each paper is allotted a duration of 3 hours. The total marks for the written exam are 1500.

3. Interview

The interview is worth 185 marks. It focuses on areas such as the candidate's biodata, hobbies, educational qualifications, job profile (if employed), current affairs, social issues, and government policies. The final merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained in the Main Exam and the Interview.

Eligibility for MPPSC State Service Preliminary Exam 2025

Age Limit: Candidates aged between 21 and 35 years are eligible to apply for the MPPSC State Service Preliminary Exam.
Educational Qualification: A graduate degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.
