According to a recent survey, 58% of Indian employees believe that the future belongs to those who adopt experimental workstyles and lifelong adaptability.

What is Experimental Workstyle?

Experimental workstyle includes emerging workplace trends such as:

  • Reverse Mentoring: Juniors guiding senior employees.
  • Micro-Retirement: Intentionally taking short career breaks.
  • AI Moonshining: Using AI secretly for work tasks.
  • AI-Washing: Overstating AI skills on resumes and jobs.
  • Skill Nomadism: Continuously changing skills and roles.

Survey Details

The findings are based on the Workplace Trends Report 2025 by Indeed, conducted via Valuevox. In August 2025, 3,872 participants, including 1,288 employers and 2,584 employees or job seekers, shared their opinions.

Key Insights

About two in five Indian employees now prioritize career growth, focusing on reverse mentoring, continuous skill development, and daily AI integration. Approximately 41% said they challenged traditional expectations by setting strict boundaries, learning new skills, or taking fewer leaves.

Shashi Kumar, Managing Director of Indeed India, said: “Comfort is now an integral part of today’s workplace processes. More Indians are adopting flexible routines and skill development to prepare for the future.”
