Code of Conduct & Election Monitoring
On Tuesday, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Bihar's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh Gunjiyaal with all recognized political parties in the state to review the election preparations and Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Strict adherence to the MCC was emphasized during the meeting.
From October 6, 2025, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect across the state. All political parties have been instructed to follow the Commission’s guidelines during their campaigns.
The CEO mentioned that a mobile application called C-Vigil has been launched by the Commission, enabling any citizen to report MCC violations. Such complaints will be acted upon immediately by the concerned district election officers.
Furthermore, Media Certification and Monitoring Committees (MCMCs) have been formed at both state and district levels to pre-approve political advertisements on TV, newspapers, and social media platforms.
