AI Training Program for School Students from Class 6
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched a new initiative titled “Skilling for AI Readiness (SOAR)” to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) education at the school level. The digital training modules were inaugurated by Minister of State (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary on Tuesday, encouraging students to treat skill development as a priority, not an option.
AI Modules for Students and Teachers
Under the guidance of the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), four AI training modules have been created:
- For students: Three 15-hour courses - “AI to Be Aware,” “AI to Acquire,” and “AI to Aspire.”
- For teachers: A 45-hour course titled “AI for Educators.”
These modules are designed to prepare the next generation to embrace AI as an opportunity rather than a challenge.
Registration Process
All modules will be conducted in online mode. Students need to register on the Skill India Digital Hub portal. During registration, they must provide their APAR ID, which links to their academic records. Once logged in with the APAR ID, the training process can begin.
After completing the training, an online assessment will determine the level of AI proficiency the student has achieved.
