Indian archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the bronze medal at the World Cup final on October 25, becoming the first Indian woman compound archer to achieve this feat. The tournament was held in Nanjing, where Jyothi defeated world number 2 archer from the UK, Ella Gibson, 150-145 to claim the bronze medal.
This was Jyothi's first medal at a World Cup final. In the final against Ella Gibson, she scored five consecutive perfect 10s over five rounds, securing a 150-145 victory. Previously, she participated in the World Cup finals in 2022 (Tlaxcala) and 2023 (Hermosillo) but was eliminated in the first round on both occasions.
In the quarter-finals, the 29-year-old Asian Games champion defeated American archer Alexis Ruiz 143-140 to advance to the semi-finals.
