2025 Was a Year of Pride and Confidence for India: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the final 2025 episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, reflected on the nation’s achievements, collective emotions, and future challenges. He said the year brought many moments of pride for India, memories that will continue to inspire the nation for a long time.

India’s strong presence was clearly visible across multiple sectors including security, sports, science, culture, and on the global stage. This was the 129th episode of Mann Ki Baat.

India’s Strength Reflected Across Sectors

The Prime Minister stated that India’s influence became more prominent in every field during 2025. Faith, culture, and India’s unique heritage were widely showcased. He described ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a symbol of national pride, emphasizing that the world has seen that today’s India does not compromise on security.

During the operation, emotions of love, dedication, and unity for ‘Mother India’ were witnessed across every corner of the country.

Ready for New Hopes in 2026

Looking ahead, PM Modi said that India is prepared to move forward in 2026 with new hopes and renewed determination. He also mentioned the completion of 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, noting enthusiastic public participation that reflected strong national consciousness.

Historic Year for Indian Sports

Calling 2025 a historic year for sports, the Prime Minister highlighted that the Indian men’s cricket team won the ICC Champions Trophy, while the women’s cricket team created history by winning the World Cup for the first time.

India’s daughters also made the nation proud by winning the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup. Strong performances in the Asia Cup T20 and medals won by para-athletes at world championships further added to India’s glory.

Major Leap in Science and Space

India also made remarkable progress in science and space exploration. PM Modi announced that Shubhranshu Shukla became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station (ISS), marking a major milestone for the country.

World Looks at India with Hope

The Prime Minister said the world now looks at India with hope, and the nation’s greatest strength is its youth power, which is driving innovation and technological advancement to new heights.

He praised efforts to promote Indian culture and languages globally, highlighting the strong bond between North and South India. He appreciated initiatives in Fiji to connect younger generations with the Tamil language through ‘Tamil Day’, and the establishment of a ‘Kannada Pathshala’ by the Indian community in Dubai.

PM Modi shared that while his mother tongue is Hindi, his love for the Tamil language inspired him to learn it.

Culture, Heritage, and Environment

Mentioning the fourth ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ held in Varanasi and the ‘Learn Tamil’ campaign, the Prime Minister said language and culture are the strongest threads binding the nation together.

He also spoke about the discovery of nearly 2,000-year-old man-made Buddhist structures in Baramulla, Kashmir, which remind the nation of its glorious past.

On environmental conservation, PM Modi said the number of cheetahs in India has crossed 30. He recalled that the year began with the grand Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, which attracted global attention, and concluded with the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a moment of immense pride for the nation.
