The World Health Organization (WHO) on August 14 declared Mpox i.e. monkeypox a global public health emergency. This is the second time in two years that this disease has been declared a health emergency. The disease has spread in Congo, which has also affected neighboring countries. The first case of monkeypox has been reported in the European country Sweden. With this, Sweden has become the first country to find a case of monkeypox outside African countries. Monkeypox is a viral disease like smallpox. Usually infection with this virus does not have many side effects, but in rare cases it can be fatal. Due to this, flu-like symptoms are seen and pus-filled wounds appear on the body. This virus is a member of the Orthopoxvirus genus family, which is also responsible for smallpox.
