Virat Kohli Becomes First Batter with 900+ Rating Points in All Formats
July 16, 2025: Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli has etched his name in the record books once again. Following an update to the ICC T20 rankings system, Kohli has become the first cricketer in the world to achieve 900 or more rating points in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Kohli, who retired from T20 Internationals in 2024, previously held a best T20 rating of 897 points. However, after the new ICC system update, his rating from 2014 has been revised to 909 points, making this achievement possible.
Breakdown of Kohli’s Ratings Across Formats
- Test Cricket: 937 points (achieved in 2018)
- ODI Cricket: 909 points (achieved in 2018)
- T20I Cricket: 909 points (revised from 897 in 2014)
Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this year on May 12, 2025. He has not yet retired from One Day Internationals (ODIs) and currently ranks 4th in the ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings.
This feat further cements Virat Kohli’s legacy as one of the greatest all-format batters in cricket history.
