Vaishnavi Sharma Makes History with Hat-trick on U19 World Cup Debut

Indian U19 women's team leg-spinner Vaishnavi Sharma has etched her name in the history books. On January 21, during an ICC U19 World Cup match, Vaishnavi created a record that no Indian had achieved before. She became the first Indian player to take a hat-trick in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup and the third player in the world to do so.

In her debut match at the U19 World Cup, Vaishnavi Sharma dismantled the Malaysian batting lineup. The 19-year-old bowler took 5 wickets for just 5 runs in 4 overs, helping India bowl Malaysia out for just 31 runs in 14.3 overs. During her fourth over, Vaishnavi got Noor Ain Binti Roslan out LBW on the second ball. On the next ball, she trapped Noor Isma Danya LBW as well. To complete her hat-trick, Vaishnavi caught Siti Nazwa off her own bowling, making history in the process.
