Vaibhav Suryavanshi Becomes Youngest Century Scorer in IPL History
Rajasthan Royals' opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has taken the cricketing world by storm with his extraordinary performance. At just 14 years old, Vaibhav created history by scoring a century in only 35 balls against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, becoming the youngest player ever to achieve this feat in T20 cricket.
His father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, expressed immense pride in his son’s remarkable achievement. Questions are now arising about whether Vaibhav will continue representing Bihar in domestic cricket or switch to another state team.
Vaibhav hails from Tajpur, Samastipur in Bihar, and was born on 27 March 2011. A left-handed batsman, he started playing cricket at the age of 5. His exceptional IPL 2025 performance has brought joy and celebration to his hometown, district, and the entire state of Bihar.
The family remains grateful to Rakesh Tiwari, President of the Bihar Cricket Association, for giving Vaibhav an early opportunity to play competitive cricket.
While many advised the family to send Vaibhav to cities like Delhi, Kolkata, or Mumbai for better cricketing exposure, his father remains firm in his decision that Vaibhav should continue representing Bihar. His uncle told the Indian Express, "Others like Ishan Kishan may play for other cities, but my brother wants Vaibhav to shine for Bihar only."
Vaibhav first gained attention after scoring a century in a youth Test match against Australia U-19. Though his domestic season was not very successful, his IPL 2025 performance has been exceptional. He made his first-class debut for Bihar against Mumbai in January 2024 at the age of 13 in Patna.
