Update Mobile Number and Address in Aadhaar via New Aadhaar App
The hassle of visiting an Aadhaar center to update details is now over. The government has launched the new Aadhaar App, allowing citizens to update essential information from home. From mobile numbers to addresses, everything can now be updated easily.
The new Aadhaar App comes with 50 new features that enable users to update their Aadhaar card details securely. This is an important step towards strengthening India’s Digital Public Infrastructure. The app aims to make identity services more accessible, secure, and user-friendly.
Features of the New Aadhaar App
- Secure offline verification
- Selective data sharing
- Mobile number update
- Manage Aadhaar details of family members from a single device
- Safe sharing of contact details without revealing full identity
The app is designed to reduce misuse of Aadhaar data. Even after repeated advisories, people in India often share Aadhaar photocopies for hotel check-ins, SIM card verification, office verification, etc., increasing the risk of data misuse. The new app addresses this by enabling verification without sharing Aadhaar numbers or biometric data.
