Ujjain Now Part of Indore Metropolitan: Major Announcement by CM
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended the Madhya Pradesh Tech Growth Conclave 2.0 on 13 November at Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore. Organized by the Department of Science and Technology, this conclave aims to establish Madhya Pradesh as a global hub of technology, innovation, and investment.
Tier-2 Cities Will Lead India’s Tech Revolution
The event laid out the roadmap for the next phase of technological and industrial growth in the state. CM Yadav conducted one-to-one sessions with top industry leaders to discuss investment opportunities and collaborations.
₹15,896 Crore Investment Confirmed, 64,000 Jobs
The CM announced major progress: ₹6,000 crore investment and 50,000 jobs have already materialized from earlier proposals. In Conclave 2, a total of 65 activities resulted in:
- ₹15,896 crore investment
- 64,000 job opportunities
- 22 new units inaugurated (₹257 crore investment, 2,125 jobs)
- 4 foundation stone events (₹1,346 crore investment, 21,150 potential jobs)
Knowledge City to Be Developed Over 2,000 Acres in Bhopal
Seven MoUs were signed for silicon wafer manufacturing, IT park development, and major R&D projects, bringing ₹800 crore investment and 10,500 jobs. A significant MoU with the Indian Army for AI and Cyber Security was also signed.
A 2,000-acre Knowledge City will be built in Bhopal to create a world-class ecosystem of institutions, research centers, and startups. It will help transform Madhya Pradesh into India’s AI hub.
Ujjain Now Part of Indore Metropolitan Region
CM Yadav announced that Ujjain will now be considered part of the Indore Metropolitan region, along with Indore, Dewas, and Dhar. This metropolitan plan includes fintech development and Science City projects.
The government will integrate ancient observatories from Raja Jai Singh’s period with modern scientific research for advanced space technology applications.
MP Space Technology Policy 2025 Draft Released
The draft of the MP Space Tech Policy 2025 was unveiled, aiming to establish Ujjain as India’s emerging Space Innovation Hub. It aligns with IN-SPACE reforms and encourages private participation in satellite design and launch services.
