विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी) ने 26 दिसंबर को एमफिल डिग्री को लेकर विश्वविद्यालयों को बड़ा निर्देश जारी किया है। यूजीसी ने विश्वविद्यालयों को एमफिल पाठ्यक्रम पेश करने के खिलाफ चेतावनी देते हुए कहा कि यह एक मान्यता प्राप्त डिग्री नहीं है और छात्रों को ऐसे पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश लेने के प्रति आगाह किया। आयोग ने विश्वविद्यालयों से 2023-24 शैक्षणिक वर्ष के लिए ऐसे किसी भी एमफिल पाठ्यक्रम में प्रवेश रोकने के लिए तत्काल कदम उठाने को कहा है।

On December 26, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a major instruction to the universities regarding MPhil degree. The UGC warned universities against offering MPhil courses, saying it is not a recognized degree and cautioned students against taking admission in such courses. The Commission has asked the universities to take immediate steps to stop admission to any such MPhil courses for the academic year 2023-24.
