Torrent Power to Invest ₹22,000 Crore in Madhya Pradesh, to Set Up 1600 MW Thermal Power Plant

Torrent Power Limited has received approval to establish a 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical coal-based thermal power plant in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

This ₹22,000 crore project has been awarded through a competitive bidding process. The plant will operate under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model, with a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) at a tariff rate of ₹5.83 per kilowatt-hour.

The project marks a significant boost to the state’s power infrastructure and is expected to contribute to meeting rising energy demands efficiently.
