भारतीय न्याय संहिता सहित तीन नए कानून देशभर में लागू
भारत में तीन नए कानून 1 जुलाई 2024 से लागू हो गए है। जिनमें भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता (BNSS), भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS) और भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम (BSA) शामिल हैं। सबसे अहम बात यह है कि जिन मामलों की सुनवाई पिछले कानून के आधार पर हो रही थी, उन पर पुराना कानून ही लागू होगा। यानी कि एक जुलाई 2024 से पहले दर्ज सभी मामलों पर नए कानून का असर नहीं होगा। जबकि, एक जुलाई 2024 से दर्ज हुए सभी मामलों की सुनवाई नए कानून के हिसाब से होगी। इन तीनों कानून को नए सिरे से लाया गया है। पुराने कानूनों की अपेक्षा इनमें कुछ बदलाव किए गए हैं। कुछ पुरानी धाराएं हटाई गई हैं तो कुछ नई धाराएं जोड़ी गई हैं। जिसके चलते कानूनी प्रक्रिया में बदलाव आएगा। ये तीनों कानून पुराने कानून की जगह पर लाए गए हैं, जो कि भारत की आजादी से पहले के हैं। अभी तक भारत में तीन आपराधिक कानून लागू थे, जिनमें इंडियन पीनल कोड (IPC), कोड ऑफ क्रिमिनल प्रोसीजर (CrPC) और इंडियन एविडेंस एक्ट (IEA) शामिल हैं। इन तीनों कानूनों की जगह क्रमशः भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS), भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता (BNSS) और भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम (BSA) ने ले ली है। नए कानून में एक बड़ा बदलाव यह किया गया है कि कोई भी नागरिक किसी भी थाने में जीरो एफआईआर दर्ज करा सकेगा। इसके बाद मामले को 15 दिनों के भीतर मूल ज्यूरिडिक्शन यानी जहां अपराध हुआ है, वहां ट्रांसफर करना होगा।

Three new laws have come into force in India from July 1, 2024. These include the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and the Indian Evidence Act (BSA). The most important thing is that the old law will be applicable on the cases which were being heard on the basis of the previous law. That is, all the cases registered before July 1, 2024 will not be affected by the new law. Whereas, all the cases registered from July 1, 2024 will be heard according to the new law. These three laws have been brought afresh. Some changes have been made in them as compared to the old laws. Some old sections have been removed and some new sections have been added. Due to which there will be a change in the legal process. These three laws have been brought in place of the old law, which is from before the independence of India. Till now three criminal laws were in force in India, which include Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and Indian Evidence Act (IEA). These three laws have been replaced by the Indian Justice Code (BNS), Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) and Indian Evidence Act (BSA) respectively. A major change in the new law is that any citizen can register a zero FIR in any police station. After this, the case will have to be transferred to the original jurisdiction i.e. where the crime has occurred within 15 days.
