Tejashwi Yadav Promises ₹30,000 to Women on Makar Sankranti
The first phase of the Bihar Assembly Election voting is scheduled for November 6, with campaigning ending on November 4. RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav made several major promises to attract voters, claiming that the people of Bihar are eager for change. He said that voters—from women to youth—are excited and ready to replace the current government.
₹30,000 to Women under 'Mai Behan Yojana'
Tejashwi Yadav announced that if his government comes to power, women will receive a one-time amount of ₹30,000 in their bank accounts on Makar Sankranti (January 14) under the “Mai Behan Yojana.” The amount will be directly transferred to women's accounts to empower them financially.
Permanent Jobs for Jeevika Didis
He promised to make JEEViKA Didis and other working women permanent employees, increasing their honorarium to ₹30,000 per month. Additionally, they will receive ₹2,000 monthly and insurance coverage worth ₹5 lakh.
Old Pension Scheme for Employees
Tejashwi assured that the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) will be reinstated for government employees if his party forms the government.
Posting Near Home for Employees
He also promised that police officers and government employees will be transferred within 70 km of their home district.
Bonus and Free Electricity for Farmers
Farmers will receive a bonus of ₹300 on paddy MSP and ₹400 on wheat MSP. Additionally, farmers will get free electricity for irrigation, ending the current charge of ₹0.55 per unit.
Benefits for PACS Members
Tejashwi announced that PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) members will be given special recognition and their honorarium will be reviewed and improved.
