On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, this year's Swachhata Abhiyan will start in the state from 17 September, the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This year the theme of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign will be 'Swabhaav Swachhata- Sanskar Swachhata'. This campaign will conclude on 2 October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This year, emphasis has been laid on maximum public participation and participation of local bodies in the Swachhata Abhiyan. During the campaign, various activities will be conducted at all levels in the state along with motivating people to imbibe cleanliness in their behavior. On the occasion of the launch of 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign on 17 September, the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the ministers will join the districts under their charge. On Tuesday, 17 September, the campaign will be made effective by innovating according to the situation at the local level. At the beginning of the campaign, on September 17, Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which provide medicines at affordable prices in the state, will also be inaugurated. This year, the 'Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan' will have three main focal points. These include public participation, awareness and advocacy, the second pillar of the campaign is Shramdaan for cleanliness and the rejuvenation of the cleanliness targeted unit. On this theme, those places will be identified where cleanliness has not been given special attention for a long time. A decision will be taken in the presence of public representatives about setting up parks, pathways and means of entertainment for children at such places. As the third pillar of the campaign, a decision will be taken about the health check-up and social security of the Safai Mitras engaged in cleaning work.
During the 'Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan', citizens will be sworn in to make India clean in the presence of public representatives at the local level. Songs, dances, quizzes, poetry recitations and street plays centered on cleanliness will be organized at various places with the participation of students and youth. Workshops centered on waste management, total cleanliness and waste to art will be organized in the presence of citizens and experts at various places in the state. During the campaign, there will also be programs for writing slogans focused on cleanliness, special programs on cleanliness will be organized at government offices and public places. A special campaign for waste collection will be run at the local level. There will also be special cleaning programs at tourist places along with the banks of the major rivers of the state, Narmada, Tapti, Betwa, Son and other major rivers. Rallies will also be organized at various places to create awareness among the citizens in the state.
In the campaign, such places will be identified where there is a special need for cleanliness. Decisions will be taken on doing special work for the convenience of the citizens there. In the ambitious program 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', tree plantation programs will also be organized. Special attention will be given to repairing public toilets at those places. To increase participation in collective cleaning work, volunteers will be identified, industrial groups will be involved and those doing excellent work will be honored in the presence of citizens. The 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign will conclude across the state on 2 October 'Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti'. On this day, efforts will be made to spread Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts on cleanliness to the masses. Efforts will be made to connect as many people as possible online with the programs being held at the national and state level. Programs focused on literature and culture of children and youth will be held in the presence of public representatives.
