The Public Health Engineering Department will run “Sujal Shakti Abhiyan” on the theme ‘Jal Hamara-Jeevan Dhara’ from 28 September to 2 October (Gandhi Jayanti) with the aim of successful implementation of the government's most ambitious scheme Jal Jeevan Mission and to create a sense of ownership and self-respect towards the tap water schemes among the villagers, to create awareness about pure drinking water testing, cleanliness, importance of water, its safety, conservation and participation in successful implementation. In the campaign, many programs were organized to create awareness about water in the village in coordination with other departments along with the Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Department. In the campaign, various activities will be organized by the Village Water and Sanitation Committee, Gram Panchayat representatives, teachers, self-help groups and non-governmental organizations etc., formed to monitor the scheme in the identified villages where the tap water scheme is to be implemented. The villagers who provided excellent service in the operation of the tap water schemes were also honored with medals and certificates.
