The new chairman of State Bank of India (SBI) will now be C.S. Setty i.e. Challa Srinivasulu Setty. The government announced the appointment of Setty as the new chairman of SBI. He will replace the current chairman of the bank Dinesh Kumar Khara on 28 August. The proposal was made by the Financial Services Institution Bureau (FSIB), which has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Setty has also led various task forces and committees constituted by the Government of India. He started his career with SBI in 1988 as a Probationary Officer (PO). He has experience in corporate credit, retail, digital and international banking. Apart from this, the government has appointed Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh to take over as Managing Director (MD) in SBI. Singh is currently the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) in the bank. SBI has a chairman and 4 MDs assisting him.
