Singhast 2028 Preparations in Ujjain and Surrounding Areas

On March 20, it was announced that special cleaning will be conducted on the major ghats of the five rivers (Narmada, Shipra, Gambhir, Mahi, Anas, and Tapti) in the Indore division for Singhast 2028. Like the Prayagraj Kumbh, holding areas will be created at Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Dhar, and other pilgrimage and tourist spots. A detailed plan has been prepared in this regard. Work is also underway on road construction, bridges, drainage, resting places, traffic parking, medical care, fire safety, and other necessary arrangements. During a review meeting, Division Commissioner Deepak Singh instructed all concerned officials to ensure that devotees heading to Ujjain during the Singhast Mela will pass through Indore and visit Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar, Dhar Bhojshala, Dhar's historical stepwell, Mandu, Hanwantia, Asirgarh Fort, Kattivada, Sendhwa Fort, and other locations.

In Indore, devotees will also visit Rajwada, Pitri Parvat, Lalbagh Palace, Khajrana Ganesh Temple, Annapurna Temple, and Bijasan Tekri. Therefore, proper arrangements for drinking water, resting places, toilets, and parking must be made at all religious and tourist locations. Collector Ashish Singh, IG Shri Anurag, Commissioner Shivam Verma, along with VC and other district collectors, were also present.

Drawing inspiration from the Prayagraj Kumbh, Division Commissioner emphasized that temporary traffic parking should be arranged several kilometers away from the main event to avoid inconvenience for pedestrians. Holding areas should be created for passengers traveling by train to the Singhast Mela. The ghats at Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, and Mandleshwar should be cleaned. A mobile medical unit with constant presence of doctors and nurses should also be established.
