Sanskrit Schools to Open in Rajgarh and Narsinghpur with Focus on Vedas, Yoga, and Cow Care Research
The government of Madhya Pradesh has announced the opening of new Sanskrit schools in Rajgarh and Narsinghpur districts. These schools will not only teach Sanskrit but will also focus on the study of Vedas and Yoga, along with research on the care and importance of cow protection. This initiative is aimed at promoting cultural and spiritual education among students.
According to School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh, this project will be evaluated based on the response from students, and if successful, similar Sanskrit schools will be opened in other districts. Minister Singh shared this information during a press conference on December 22 at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, where he was briefing the media on the achievements of various departments during the two years of the government led by Chief Minister Mohan Singh.
Plans for Private-Public Partnership Schools and Teacher Recruitment
Minister Singh also mentioned that the government plans to develop some higher secondary schools under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model into Sandipani schools. This initiative will enhance the quality of education and infrastructure in the state. Furthermore, he stated that by 2026, all educational materials, including books and bicycles, would be provided to students in April instead of July-August, preventing any disruptions to their studies.
Looking ahead, the government plans to hire 30,000 teachers in the coming year to address the shortage of staff. This move is expected to reduce the dropout rate in schools. In fact, the dropout rate for primary school students has decreased from 6.8% to zero over the last three years. In response to a question, the Minister acknowledged the challenge posed by student dropouts and emphasized the importance of addressing this issue.
Innovations in Education: Book Fairs and New Office Development
As part of innovative initiatives, Minister Singh announced plans to hold a book fair in every block of the state in April. The book fair will offer textbooks to students at affordable rates, benefiting not only government school students but also those attending private institutions. Additionally, to streamline operations, the government will establish a 20-floor office complex to house all education-related offices in one location.
Transport Department Update
When asked about allegations of illegal activities in the transport department, including the discovery of gold bricks at the residence of former transport officer Saurabh Sharma, Minister Singh responded humorously, stating, "If the money was reaching the top, there wouldn't be such an uproar." He assured that investigations would be conducted and action would be taken accordingly. The Minister also shared that new transport services, including easy transport in Indore, will start between April and June, with route surveys for other districts nearly completed.
