RSS 100-Year Celebration: 7 National Programs and Global Outreach
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began its centenary year celebration with a program held at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, from August 26–28, 2025. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat attended the event.
The centenary celebrations will officially run from October 2, 2025, to October 20, 2026, beginning on Dussehra. Seven major programs will be organized nationwide to highlight RSS's 100-year journey, current challenges, and solutions. Events will be held at local and state levels. In West Bengal, celebrations have already begun from the first day of Navratri.
International Outreach
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is expected to travel abroad during this time. He may address programs in countries such as the USA and Europe. Final decisions regarding the countries he will visit will be made at the RSS Working Committee meeting scheduled for November in Jabalpur.
Path Sanchalan in Nagpur
On September 28, a ceremonial Path Sanchalan (march) was held in Nagpur, where Mohan Bhagwat was also present.
Dussehra Speech: Operation Sindoor & Caste Census
In his Dussehra speech, the RSS chief will likely discuss the army’s bravery in Operation Sindoor and touch on key contemporary issues such as caste-based census, population control, terrorism, and Pakistan.
7 Major Events During the Centenary Year
- Vijayadashami Utsav: Participation of uniformed Swayamsevaks and families at local and neighborhood levels. Starts from October 2 nationwide, and from Mahalaya in West Bengal.
- Griha Sampark Abhiyan (Household Outreach): Volunteers will spend 15 minutes in each home sharing information about RSS. The campaign will last three weeks.
- Jan Goshtis (Public Dialogues): Engagement with labor unions, auto drivers, and intellectuals.
- Hindu Conferences: Held at city and sub-district levels to unite different Hindu communities. Previous events were held in 1989 and 2006.
- Sadbhavana Meetings: One-month programs involving social workers, organizations, and spiritual leaders.
- Youth Conferences: Aimed at youth aged 15–40, including sports and games.
- Shakha Expansion: A nationwide one-week campaign to expand morning and evening shakhas.
Notable Guests in RSS Programs
Kamaltai Gavai, mother of Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai, will be the Chief Guest at the RSS event in Amravati on October 5, 2025.
On October 2, former President Ramnath Kovind will attend the Dussehra program in Nagpur as the Chief Guest. This makes him the second former President to do so, after Pranab Mukherjee, who attended an RSS event in 2018 during a training camp’s closing ceremony.
