Record Voter Turnout in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025
The first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 saw historic voter turnout. According to reports, this is the highest voter participation since India’s independence. Voters showed tremendous enthusiasm in the first phase of polling.
On 6 November, voting took place in 121 constituencies across 18 districts. By 5 PM, a total of 60.13% voter turnout was recorded. This marks the completion of the first phase of polling in Bihar. In three districts, some booths witnessed a boycott of voting.
The voting boycott occurred in the following locations: Brahmpur in Buxar district, booths 165 and 166 in Fatuha, and booths 1, 2, and 5 in Suryagraha, Lakhisarai district. Despite this, the overall turnout shows that Bihar recorded the highest voting percentage since independence.
