Public Accounts Committee Constitutes Six Sub-Committees for Key Investigations
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Indian Parliament has formed six sub-committees to investigate crucial matters related to finance, defense, railways, and civil affairs. These sub-committees will delve into delays, irregularities, and issues raised in audit reports of government departments.
The scope of investigations includes major topics such as the delayed production of the 'Dhanush' artillery system and spectrum management irregularities highlighted in the audit reports of the Department of Telecommunications.
A sub-committee has been formed under the leadership of Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil to monitor delays in the submission of Action Taken Notes (ATNs) on audit paragraphs mentioned in reports by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
The finance-related sub-committee will be convened by Trinamool Congress leader Sukhendu Sekhar Ray. In his absence, Congress member Amar Singh will serve as the acting convener of the sub-committee.
