Professor Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi Appointed Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

Professor Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi from IIT Kanpur has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). He has previously held significant positions as Director at IIT Roorkee, IIT Mandi, and Shimla. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Education on July 25, 2025. Professor Chaturvedi has been appointed for a term of three years or until the age of 70, whichever is earlier.

Professor Chaturvedi is a distinguished academician with extensive experience in leading some of the top technical institutes in India. His appointment as Vice-Chancellor of BHU was made by the President of India in his capacity as the Visitor of BHU.
