PPSC 2025: High Court Denies Approval for Mains Exam Schedule, Next Hearing on October 9
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has declined to approve the schedule for the MPPSC 2025 mains examination. The next hearing for the petition is set for October 9.
This development comes as a setback for the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf stated that the exam schedule cannot be approved without hearing the opposing party.
The petition was filed by reserved category candidates including Sunit Yadav from Bhopal, Pankaj Jatav from Narsinghpur, and Rohit Kavde from Betul. They argued that while the preliminary exam results for 158 posts were declared on March 5, the category-wise cutoff marks were not released.
The petitioners pointed out that category-wise cutoffs have always been released in previous exams. Despite various Supreme Court and High Court directives, the commission allegedly did not allow reserved category candidates to compete for unreserved posts. Instead, it released the results treating all unreserved posts as meant only for the general category.
The petitioners claim this unconstitutional error prevented them from qualifying for the mains exam. They allege that the MPPSC did not release cutoffs to cover up the issue. They requested the court to allow the implementation of the mains exam schedule, but the bench refused and issued further necessary directions.
