Pope Francis Passes Away at 88

The Vatican announced that Pope Francis, aged 88, passed away on Monday after battling double pneumonia for several weeks. He died at his residence in Casa Santa Marta.

In his final message, Pope Francis emphasized the significance of life and death, stating: "Christ is risen! These words express the full meaning of our existence, for we are made not for death, but for life."

Despite his deteriorating health, Pope Francis appeared in a wheelchair on April 20 and highlighted the importance of freedom and peace during times of conflict.

Public viewing of his body began on April 23 at St. Peter's Basilica and will continue until April 25. His funeral procession will take place on April 26 from St. Peter's Square, with several global leaders expected to attend.
