PF Withdrawals up to ₹1 Lakh to be Settled Within 3 Days
Withdrawing up to ₹1 lakh from your Provident Fund (PF) account for purposes like education, illness, home construction, or marriage has now become much easier. The government has announced that such small claims will be settled within 72 hours (3 days) and directly credited to the claimant’s bank account.
According to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), 99% of PF withdrawal requests are now received online, making the process faster and more transparent. In FY 2024–25, out of 68.96 lakh total claims, nearly 50% were settled within 72 hours.
Target for FY 2025–26
The government aims to process 100% of claims up to ₹1 lakh within 72 hours in the financial year 2025–26. Additionally, 90% of higher-value claims (above ₹1 lakh) are currently being settled within 20 days.
