Payatongtarn Shinawatra is 37 years old. She is the youngest leader elected to the post of Prime Minister. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. 37-year-old Paitatongtarn has become the 31st Prime Minister of the country. She is also the youngest Prime Minister in the history of Thailand, and she is the second woman of the country to reach this post. Yingluck was the first woman to become the Prime Minister of Thailand. She is Paitatongtarn's aunt. Paitatongtarn is the third leader from the Shinawatra family to become Prime Minister. Thaksin's brother-in-law Somchai Wongsawat has also been the Prime Minister of Thailand in 2008. Thaksin became the PM of Thailand in 2001. Thaksin Shinawatra was ousted from power through a coup. Paitatongtarn is the leader of the ruling party 'Phu Thai'. However, Piyatongtarn is not an MP yet. Piyatongtarn Shinawatra is the president of the Pheu Thai Party since 2023. She was also a candidate for the post of Prime Minister in the elections held in April 2023. Under her leadership, the party stood second in the elections.
