After the India-Pakistan war, the world recognized India’s strength. India has now become the third most powerful defense power globally, after the United States and China. According to the prestigious Australian think tank Lowy Institute and the Asia Power Index 2025, India’s defense strength is widely acknowledged. The report highlighted that Operation Sindur played a significant role in this achievement. Along with military strength, India’s rapidly growing economic power is attracting global investors.
India Ranks Third in Global Defense Power
India has surpassed countries like Japan, Russia, Australia, and South Korea in defense power, while Pakistan ranks 16th. India’s progress over the last 11 years has been praised worldwide. India is strengthening its capabilities across multiple sectors, including road infrastructure, electricity production, and digitalization. Its military prowess was prominently displayed during Operation Sindur.
Operation Sindur Demonstrates India’s Real Strength
During Operation Sindur, India destroyed key areas in Pakistan, where its top leadership was located, in just 25 minutes. India remained unaffected, and no Pakistani missiles could harm the country. The Asia Power Index ranks countries annually based on resources and influence. A minimum of 40 points is required to be classified as a major power, and the index includes 27 countries in total.
India’s Growing Economic Influence
India has surpassed Japan in economic capacity and ranks 9th globally in attracting foreign investment, a number expected to rise. Due to defense and economic strength, India ranks above countries like the Philippines and Thailand. The Asia Power Index uses 131 indicators and 8 parameters to measure overall influence, including military capability, defense networks, economic power, diplomatic and cultural influence, resilience, and future resource potential.
