यह किला 17वीं-18वीं शताब्दी में गोंड राजाओं के आधिपत्य में था। बाद में भोपाल रियासत के नवाब दोस्त मोहम्मद ने इसे अपने अधीन ले लिया था। यह करीब 1127 मीटर लंबी और 266 मीटर चौड़ी पहाड़ी पर बना है। इस किले में टैंक, कुएं गुंबद के साथ ही मुगल वास्तुकला की छाप मिलती है। पुरातत्वविद डीके माथुर के अनुसार यहां मिली मूर्तियां परमार कालीन हैं। इस किले की दीवारों को बनाने के लिए पत्थरों और ईंटों की चिनाई का काम किया गया है।
