The Government of India's undertaking Nuclear Power Corporation Limited (NPCIL) has approved 4 new nuclear power projects in Madhya Pradesh. Village Khakron of Chanderi district panchayat of Ashoknagar district has been included for one of the projects, but Khakron has been declared to be of Shivpuri district, which created confusion. Local officials have also not been informed about this yet.
Four projects have been approved in Madhya Pradesh. Locations have been selected for this from the Centre. Three days ago, it came to light that this project has been approved in Shivpuri along with Neemuch, Dewas, Seoni, but the village Khakron of Shivpuri which was mentioned in the first survey was said to be 23 km from Mungaoli and 4.5 km from Rajghat Reserve. This entire location is of village Khakron included in Gram Panchayat Khagal-Dudhrai of Chanderi district area of Ashoknagar district. Khakron has a huge area of stone mines, the mines are spread far and wide, meaning the surface of the ground is very hard. Not only this, there will never be a shortage of water for projects like nuclear power plants here, because there is Rajghat dam nearby. The project will get adequate water supply through this dam.
