Nitish Kumar Takes Oath as Chief Minister with 26 Ministers
Oath Ceremony Overview
Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time in a ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan, Patna. A total of 26 ministers from the NDA alliance also took oath, including Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha as Deputy Chief Ministers. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath to the Chief Minister and the ministers.
The cabinet includes 10 new faces, and caste balance has been given priority. Ministers have been selected from BJP, JDU, LJP(RA), RLM, and HAM.
Women Ministers in the New Cabinet
Three women took oath as ministers during the ceremony. Leshi Singh from JDU retained her ministerial position. Shreyasi Singh from Jamui, who was re-elected, also became a minister. The third is Rama Nishad, a first-time MLA from the Aurai constituency of Muzaffarpur, representing the BJP.
New Faces in Nitish Kumar’s Cabinet
Among the 26 ministers who took oath, 10 are first-time ministers. Some of them are newly elected MLAs. Deepak Prakash from RLM became a minister despite not being a member of either house.
New ministers include Rama Nishad (BJP), Sanjay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar Singh from LJP(RA).
Ramkripal Yadav, although a former Union Minister in the Narendra Modi government, became a minister in the state cabinet for the first time.
Other first-time ministers include Shreyasi Singh, Dr. Pramod Kumar, Sanjay Singh Tiger, Arun Shankar Prasad, and Lakhendra Kumar Roshan.
Caste-Based Representation in the New Government
Caste balance has been maintained in the formation of the new cabinet. The representation is as follows:

- Nishad: 2 ministers
- Kurmi: 2 ministers
- Kushwaha: 3 ministers
- Yadav: 2 ministers
