Nitin Nabin to Take Over as BJP National President on January 20, 2026
On January 20, 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will get a new National President. Acting National President Nitin Nabin will formally take over the leadership of the party after the official election process. This event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Chief Ministers, national office-bearers, state presidents, and members of the National Executive.
Nitin Nabin will replace JP Nadda, who has been one of the longest-serving National Presidents of BJP. Since becoming the acting president, Nabin has received strong support from the party's top leadership and organization, making his elevation to the role of president almost certain.
With full backing from the RSS, the 46-year-old Nitin Nabin will become the youngest National President of BJP to date. His leadership is seen as the beginning of significant organizational changes within the party, where a new balance will be established between young faces and experienced leaders to prepare BJP for the next electoral rounds. Nitin Nabin's appointment is not just seen as the arrival of a new president but as the start of a new way of managing politics and the organization within the BJP.
