New Online Gaming Rules Implemented from Today
If you play games on mobile or computer, you may notice changes in your experience from today. The government has implemented new online gaming rules from May 1, 2026, aimed at making gaming safer, more transparent, and trustworthy.
According to the government, these rules will protect players from fraud and unfair practices, while also setting clear guidelines for gaming companies.
Now every gaming platform will be required to register and publicly disclose its details. A proper grievance redressal system has also been introduced, ensuring timely hearing and resolution of complaints from players.
Clear Classification of Games
The new rules also clearly define which games are for entertainment or skill-based (such as e-sports and social games), and which involve monetary betting or real-money stakes.
