Neeraj Chopra Wins Third Consecutive Silver at Diamond League Final 2025
Neeraj Chopra claimed the silver medal at the Diamond League Final 2025, marking his third consecutive silver in the prestigious event. He recorded a best throw of 85.01 meters.
The final took place at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 28. Germany's Julian Weber secured the gold medal with an outstanding throw of 91.51 meters, while Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago won bronze with a throw of 84.95 meters.
Neeraj opened the competition with a solid 84.35-meter throw. His second attempt reached 82 meters, followed by three consecutive fouls. He managed his best throw of 85.01 meters in the final attempt, securing second place.
Neeraj's Diamond League 2025 Season Performance
Doha Diamond League
Neeraj began the season with a powerful performance in May at the Doha Diamond League, where he threw 90.23 meters — his first-ever throw beyond 90 meters. His first attempt registered 88.44 meters, the second was invalid, and the third was a personal best.
Before this, Neeraj’s best was 89.94 meters achieved in the 2022 Diamond League. However, in Doha 2025, he finished second behind Julian Weber of Germany, who threw 91.06 meters. Anderson Peters of Grenada placed third with 85.64 meters.
Paris Diamond League
In June, Neeraj competed at the Paris Diamond League and won gold with a throw of 88.16 meters. He secured the top spot in his very first attempt.
Julian Weber of Germany followed with a best of 87.88 meters to take silver, and Brazil’s Mauricio Luiz da Silva secured bronze with 86.62 meters.
