Madhya Pradesh National Highway Projects & Tiger Tourism Corridor

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved a 625 km Tiger Tourism Corridor on the Atal Highways. The highway network in Madhya Pradesh is being expanded to boost the state's economic growth, industrial development, tourism, and ensure smooth and safe road connectivity.
An important meeting was convened on Monday in New Delhi, attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. The meeting focused on future national highway development plans in the state, especially pending projects of NHAI. Projects worth over ₹4,500 crore are expected to move forward as a result of this review.
The state aims to make road connectivity more extensive, safe, and modern. National highway networks are being expanded and strengthened. To accelerate NH construction, a major review meeting was held on 5 January in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Minister Nitin Gadkari at India Mandapam.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav departed from Bhopal to New Delhi to attend the meeting. Ministers, senior officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) of MP, officials from NHAI, and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) were also present.
The meeting reviewed ongoing and proposed national highway projects in Madhya Pradesh, with special focus on projects delayed due to land acquisition, environmental, and forest approvals. Timely solutions for pending projects were emphasized to ensure smooth progress.
Several NHAI projects in Madhya Pradesh have been delayed, including major roads like Jabalpur-Damoh, Satna-Chitrakoot, Ujjain-Jhalawar. Approximately ₹4,667 crore worth of 10 projects have been stalled primarily due to land acquisition and forest department approvals. High-level meetings have been conducted to expedite these pending projects.
