MP Government to Work on AI in Mission Mode

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Madhya Pradesh government is taking concrete steps to establish AI as the foundation for citizen-centric, transparent, and efficient governance. AI-based administrative systems, management, technology, and academic innovations will effectively support the “Developed India@2047” goal. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is working to advance India in every sector.

Madhya Pradesh is home to the study center of Lord Krishna and the meditation center of Shankaracharya Ji. The state government is progressing with a focus on human sensitivity. AI is being used across departments to implement public welfare schemes efficiently. AI is a transformative power for governance, industry, and society. The state will soon release an AI policy and work on AI in mission mode extensively. There are significant opportunities for AI implementation in the mining and health sectors. Madhya Pradesh is a state with immense potential, and the government is working in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision to achieve the goal of a developed India.

On 15 January, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the “Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference-2026” at Taj Lake Front, Bhopal. He lit the ceremonial lamp and launched the AI Literacy Mission’s “Future Skills for AI-Powered India” skill initiative. The Chief Minister also launched the Madhya Pradesh Space Tech Policy-2026. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in his presence.

During the conference, winners of the Ujjain Mahakumbh Hackathon and Madhya Pradesh InnoTech Competition were awarded. Additional Chief Secretary Science & Technology, Mr. Sanjay Dubey, presented the state’s key AI vision on “AI for People, Planet and Progress – Madhya Pradesh Roadmap to Impact.” A short film “Youth AI for All” was screened under the AI Literacy Mission to promote AI as a national movement. Mr. Ashish Vashisth, GM of MP State Electronics Development Corporation Limited, highlighted the objectives of the conference and the role of MPSEDC as the nodal agency to establish AI infrastructure in the state.

The Space Tech Policy aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a leading and future-oriented center in India’s emerging space sector. It will support space tech startups, MSMEs, and industries with financial, infrastructural, and research support to promote space-based applications in agriculture, disaster management, water resources, and urban planning. This policy is a key initiative to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s role in investment, innovation, and the national space ecosystem.

Six MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav with organizations including Youngovator (Answer Foundation), CEEW, Google, NASSCOM, AISECT, and Bhashini. These agreements aim to promote AI and robotics innovation in educational institutions, AI research for climate change and sustainable development, AI and cloud usage in government departments, establishment of AI Centers of Excellence, skill development, access to computing and data resources, digital literacy and AI awareness in rural areas, and AI-enabled governance. Additionally, an MoU was signed between India AI and the Technical Education, Skill Development & Employment Department to expand access to high-quality AI education. Under this, 30 Data & AI Labs will be established in Madhya Pradesh with the support of the state government, as part of India AI’s plan to set up 570 labs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities nationwide.
