Michael Clarke Inducted into Australian Cricket Hall of Fame

On January 23, Michael Clarke was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame at the Sydney Cricket Ground, becoming the 64th cricketer to receive this prestigious honor. The 43-year-old former captain had a remarkable 12-year international career, during which he played 115 Tests, 245 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 34 T20 matches, accumulating more than 17,000 runs.

As a captain, Clarke led Australia in 47 Test matches, including the historic 5-0 Ashes victory in 2013-14. Just before his retirement in 2015, he also led Australia to a memorable victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup on home soil. Clarke's batting prowess includes 28 Test centuries, making him the sixth Australian to achieve such a feat. Among his notable innings are a magnificent 329-run knock at the Sydney Cricket Ground against India, a 151-run century in Bengaluru, a brilliant 151 at Cape Town, and a 128-run innings played after the tragic death of Phillip Hughes in Adelaide. His iconic triple century against India in 2012 also stands as one of his most memorable achievements in Test cricket.

“Michael's career will always be remembered by the Australian public, and he will remain among the greatest players in history,” said a representative from the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
