Medical Students to Receive 'Matri Bhasha Ratna' and Cash Prize for Topping in Hindi

The Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University has taken a significant step to promote medical education in Hindi. Students who choose to take their exams in Hindi and top their class will be awarded the prestigious 'Matri Bhasha Ratna' title and cash rewards.

Under this new initiative, students who top the entire undergraduate program will receive a cash prize of ₹2 lakh. Additionally, those who top each year will be awarded ₹1 lakh. This new decision will come into effect from the academic session of 2025-26.

A high-level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Khandelwal to encourage voluntary use of Hindi in medical education. The initiative aims to increase the participation of students in medical studies through their mother tongue and promote the use of Hindi in the medical field.

By encouraging students to study in Hindi, the university aims to boost students' connection with their cultural and linguistic roots, ensuring a more inclusive and accessible education system. This move is expected to help students who are more comfortable with their native language and promote the growth of Hindi in scientific and medical literature.
