Mayotte Island: The Most Devastating Storm of the Century
A cyclone, 'Chido', that hit the island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean has caused massive destruction. According to CNN, winds were blowing at a speed of 225 km/h during the cyclone, causing dozens of settlements to be completely destroyed. Chido is being described as the most severe storm to hit Mayotte in the past 100 years. There are fears that at least 1,000 people have been killed, although this has not been officially confirmed. The destruction caused by this storm is so severe that people are comparing it to a nuclear bomb. Mayotte is located in the Indian Ocean, off the eastern coast of Africa, just west of Madagascar. It is under the control of France and is located 7,837 kilometers from the European country. Rescue workers, including teams from France, are searching for survivors in the debris.
