Male Candidates to Be Included in Nursing College Faculty Recruitment in Madhya Pradesh

Male candidates will now be included in the recruitment process for various faculty positions in nursing colleges across Madhya Pradesh. This information was presented on January 6 during a hearing in the High Court by the Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (ESB).

ESB's advocate Rahul Divakar stated that a decision has been made to include male candidates in the recruitment process, although a copy of the written instructions has not yet been received. The petition challenging the 100% reservation for female candidates was filed by Naushad Ali, a resident of Jabalpur. According to the petition, the last date to apply is January 7.

The court scheduled the next hearing for January 7 and directed the government to submit a written response. Advocate Vishal Baghel represented the petitioner and argued that the advertisement for the Group-1 Sub Group-2 combined recruitment examination 2025, issued by ESB on December 16, had provided 100% reservation for female candidates for 286 posts, including 40 Associate Professors, 28 Assistant Professors, and 218 Sister Tutors.

Excluding male candidates entirely not only violates recruitment rules and the standards of the Indian Nursing Council but also breaches Articles 14, 15, and 16 of the Constitution and the Supreme Court's 50% reservation limit set in the Indra Sawhney case. According to the advertisement, applications were invited from December 24, with January 7, 2026, as the final date to apply.
