On January 13, 2025, during the first bathing festival of Maha Kumbh 2025, millions of devotees took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Paush Purnima. On the second day, January 14, the auspicious Makar Sankranti bath coincided with the Maha Kumbh, prompting many devotees to camp in the mela area or city, seeking double blessings. According to the authorities, 1.65 crore people performed sacred rituals at various ghats, including the Ganga. The unique celestial alignment, which occurs once in 12 years, made the Maha Kumbh gathering at Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam a rare occasion. The devotees, after taking a holy dip, felt a spiritual ecstasy and received blessings for a prosperous life by offering their prayers at the doors of saints. On the first bathing day of Paush Purnima, an inspiring and tranquil scene unfolded at dawn, evoking satisfaction and joy in the hearts of the devotees. The bathing rituals began at midnight on January 12, but the auspicious time started at 4:32 AM on January 13, with the sacred chant of "Har-Har Gange" echoing across the 44 ghats of the Sangam, including the Ganga and Yamuna.
