Madhya Pradesh Wins National Water Awards in Two Categories
Recognition for Water Conservation
Madhya Pradesh has once again established its prominence at the national level in water conservation. On 11 November 2025 in New Delhi, Jal Shakti Minister Shri C. R. Patil announced the 6th National Water Awards. The state won awards in two categories.
Award-Winning Districts
Khargone district was recognized as the Best District in the Eastern Zone, while Kaweshwar Gram Panchayat in Khandwa received joint second place in the Best Gram Panchayat category. The awards will be presented by President Draupadi Murmu on 18 November 2025.
Other Recognitions
In the "Water Conservation-Public Participation" initiative, the Western Zone Category 1 award went to East Nimar. Among the top 50 urban local bodies, Guna district was ranked first. Additionally, districts including Guna, Betul, Dhar, Dewas, Seoni, and Khargone were selected in Category 3 for their water conservation efforts.
