According to the latest data of the Government of India, the state has secured the first position in the country with 5.47 million tonnes of soybean production, which is 41.92 percent of the total soybean production of the country. Maharashtra stood second with 5.23 million tonnes production, while its contribution was 40.01 percent. Rajasthan secured third position with 1.17 million tonnes production and its contribution in the total soybean production of the country was 8.96 percent. Madhya Pradesh lagged behind due to decrease in soybean production in the last two years. In the year 2022-23, Maharashtra stood first with 5.47 million tonnes production and contributed 42.12% to the total soybean production of the country and while Madhya Pradesh was at second place with 5.39 million tonnes. Its contribution in the total soybean production of the country was 41.50 percent. Earlier in 2021-22 also, Maharashtra was at the first position with a production of 6.20 million tonnes and contributed 48.7% to the country's soybean production while Madhya Pradesh was at number two with 4.61 million tonnes. Its contribution to the total production of the country was 35.78%. In 2020-21, Madhya Pradesh was at the first position with a production of 5.15 million tonnes and contributed 45.05 0% to the total soybean production of the country. This year Maharashtra was at number two with a production of 4.6 million tonnes and Rajasthan was at number three.
