Indore's Apurv-Praveen Receive Vikram, Krishna-Prakhar Receive Eklavya Award

The Madhya Pradesh Sports Awards were announced on April 3. A total of 27 athletes/coaches will be honored this year. Among them, four players are from Indore. Krishna Mishra received the Eklavya Award for his achievements in Squash, and Prakhar Joshi received the Eklavya Award for his success in Diving at the national level. Apurv Dubey was nominated for the Vikram Award in Weightlifting, while Praveen Dave received the Vikram Award for his accomplishments in Softball.

Krishna Mishra (Squash), Eklavya Award

Krishna Mishra has achieved success in both team and individual squash events. His India ranking is number 1, and his Asia ranking is number 2. In addition, he is ranked number 5 in the Junior World Rankings.

Prakhar Joshi (Diving), Eklavya Award

From 2016 to 2019, Prakhar won 3 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze medals at the School National Games. In the 2021-22 Junior Nationals, he won two gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.

Apurv Dubey (Weightlifting), Vikram Award

After not achieving success in Discus Throw, Apurv turned to Weightlifting and achieved podium success. He is the only weightlifter from Madhya Pradesh who has lifted over 900 kg in National competitions.

Praveen Dave (Softball), Vikram Award

Praveen has won 6 silver medals at the Senior National Championship. He has also earned medals at the 2017 World Championship, the 2018 Asian Championship, and the 2010 Junior Asian Championship. He previously received the Eklavya Award in 2011.

Arjuna Awardee Shooter Aishwarya Now Receives Vikram Award

MP's star shooter Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar will be honored with the Vikram Award by the government. Aishwarya had already been awarded the Arjuna Award by the central government two years ago.
