• While discussing the points related to Madhya Pradesh in the Economic Survey presented on 22 July by Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, she said that Madhya Pradesh is among the states moving fast in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the year 2023-24. Madhya Pradesh has registered an increase of 15 points. In his statement, the Union Minister has also mentioned two river linking campaigns related to Madhya Pradesh, Ken-Betwa Link Project and Kali Sindh-Chambal-Parvati Link Project. • Madhya Pradesh ranks first in India in pulses production and is number two in the country in oilseeds production. • Madhya Pradesh is producing one-fourth of the pulses in the country and Madhya Pradesh has a fifth share in the country's oilseeds production. • Madhya Pradesh is again ranked first in soybean production. Madhya Pradesh is also first in the production of gram and wheat. • Madhya Pradesh ranks second in the country in total food grain production. Madhya Pradesh ranks third in the country in the production of maize, coarse grains, groundnut and peas.
