Madhya Pradesh Leads in 'One Nation, One Subscription' Portal Registration

Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar congratulated the Higher Education Department for achieving the top rank nationwide in implementing the Government of India's ambitious project 'One Nation, One Subscription'. Minister Parmar stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Higher Education Department is working with full commitment in line with the National Education Policy-2020, exploring innovative avenues in education.

Madhya Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone in higher education by emerging as a national leader in implementing the 'One Nation, One Subscription' project. The state has outperformed others like Karnataka and Rajasthan in providing students access to global research journals and digital libraries. So far, 617 higher education institutions in Madhya Pradesh have registered on the portal, while Karnataka is second with 480 institutions.

To ensure effective implementation of the scheme, a nodal officer was appointed at the state level in the first phase. In the second phase, each higher education institution designated institutional nodal officers. In the third phase, these nodal officers registered faculty members and students, generated their IDs and passwords, and provided them to users. Users can then log in to the ONOS portal and access research papers and books free of cost.

The 'One Nation, One Subscription' initiative by the Ministry of Education provides students, researchers, and faculty access to 30+ major national and international publications through a single portal. Madhya Pradesh leads the nation in digital education utilization, with 617 institutions registered and over 838,000 students and researchers actively using the portal. This initiative promotes equitable access to quality education, research development, and global knowledge, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy-2020.
